I Love Furikake and Graphic Design : :
I was born and raised in Southern California, and when I was in elementary school, my mom would pack bento lunches for me - something pretty uncommon in the early 1980s. My friends would stare curiously at my sticky
rice topped with tiny colorful specks. Those specks were furikake, a Japanese seasoning made from seaweed
and fish flakes.

I remember proudly using my chopsticks and savoring the rice with furikake like it was the most flavorful food in the world - and to me, it was. Eventually, I convinced one friend to try it, then another. They loved it and even wanted to use my chopsticks.

That’s the same spirit I bring to graphic design - sharing something I love in a way that makes others appreciate
it too. I enjoy using creativity and design to enhance products, branding, and marketing materials, making every project look and feel its best.
With over 25 years of experience, I’m still as excited and passionate about design as I was when I started. I’ve had the privilege of working with an incredible range of people and businesses - from a marketing and advertising agency to a product design company, a family-owned winery, and a community bank. I truly value the diversity of the projects and the relationships built along the way.
I’ve lived in Davis, California for more than two decades and love being part of this small-town, college community.
Please take a look at my résumé to learn more about my work - and feel free to reach out to me. I’d love to connect and sprinkle some creativity together.
- Aileen
